Payment Providers
There are a plethora of payment gateways available. These allow you to receive payment from customers via Credit Card or Bank Transfer Payments.
There is a cost involved in every transaction that occurs online and generally, the fees can range from 4%-6% of the sale value.
Although there are a huge number of providers we have extensive experience of the following specific gateway payment providers, each has pros and cons
Wind Cave
Pros – Trusted by New Zealand Customers as it used to power Trade me so they are very familiar with it. Wind Cave PX Pay offers the chance to do bank transfer payments as well as credit cards, in the same account
Cons – ongoing monthly fees that can impact lower volume online sales.
Pay Pal
Pros – Biggest provider in the world. Quick to set up, No use – no fee, No need to deal with banks for set up.
Cons – Not as trusted by New Zealanders, can be seen as not legitimate because anyone can set up a paypal account without credit checks from the banks.
Shopify
If the site is to use Shopify there is the provision to use the Shopify credit card system. The fees on this system are on par with the fees for the other two providers. There is also provision for bank transfer payments in Shopify as well as credit cards.
