The Construction Process

Our aim is to work with you to create effective websites that works to make you money. We do this by combining our skills and experience to design and build you a website and digital marketing strategy that we believe will do this for you. We have processes in place to liberate creative ideas and at the same time plan and measure the progress of the project to ensure that you understand what is happening, but feel free to ask questions at any time.

The Construction Process

Discovery and Research
We will ask you a lot of questions to allow us to understand what you need your website to do and other technical aspects around your use of email, AdWords, third party software (Mail Chimp, Xero, Insightly, etc.) and other aspects of the site. We have already started this process with our first meeting. We do not assume anything, if we don’t understand something about your business we will call or email for clarification. Throughout the construction process (and beyond) we will be in communication with you to keep you informed.

Graphic Design
From the information we gather in the discovery phase, we formulate a graphic design we believe will work to achieve the aims of the website. We do not formulate 2 or 3 ideas; we create one solution that we believe will work. If you decide that you don’t like the completed graphic and would like it changed, we are happy to discuss your concerns and make any needed changes. However, one of the hardest things when looking at a graphic is to be detached and think like your customer, putting aside your personal choices and asking, ‘does this deliver my message correctly?’ Sometimes subjective things like the fact that you don’t like the colours or fonts we have used arise, in these cases we will work with you to fine tune things. Once we have created a graphic that you are happy with we ask that you sign it off as this gives us the green light to start building the website based on this design.

Construction
We build the site, coding it to make it function using the agreed design. We will let you know the timescales for the construction shortly after you have approved the design. If during the construction process you decide that for whatever reason you do not like the graphic design for the website, we are happy to discuss your concerns. We may then do a new graphic based on your preferences. We will give you a cost for doing this additional work before we do it, so you can understand the implications of the changes you have requested. The kinds of change that would impact heavily on the cost would be rearranging the navigation, changing the core colour scheme, basically starting again. This doesn’t happen often, but we feel it is our duty of care to warn you that once you approve the graphic, major modifications will be charged for.

Training
We train you either at our offices or with you in your offices. These training sessions will take about an hour and take you through the editing system we use to build your website. We provide a full training manual to accompany the website. We also offer support and ongoing help if needed once your site is live. We are here to ensure you get the most from the investment you are making in your website. It is on the training day that the second half payment for your website is due.

Going Live
Once you are happy that the content on the site is right and ready to go live, our staff do a series of tests on the site and put it live on the internet. We do not proof read websites, but we do make sure that any links you might have added work and the images you use are looking good within the page. We normally tweak a few things and complete a general tidy up to enhance the site. We do have various contacts that are proof readers if you feel you need this service. Please note, we do not put websites live on Fridays.

Post Live Support
Once your site is fully live on the Internet we are available for technical backup and support to give guidance. We also offer a full digital marketing service under our brand Website Angels please call if you’d like more information about this.

Ultimately the aim of the construction process is to build an effective marketing solution for your business. Our aim is to make this process seamless by keeping you informed and communicating regularly.
